I initially wanted to write this as a post with elements of roleplay in it, but then I realised, three quarters of the way through writing it that it was awful, and doing an awards ceremony that way is cliche, and as the youth would say, "fucking cringe."
In true Reject Awards fashion, we are running the awards for last year one quarter into the next one, so it's not worth reflecting on last year at this stage in this post.
In any case, this awards ceremony will be run in two parts: the nomination phase (which will last until the 16th March), and then the voting period (which will last until the 21st March).
Nominations will be conducted in this thread, and voting will be conducted in separate threads nearer the time. You're free to leave a brief statement about the person you have nominated, and if you're lucky I might care enough to read it. Badge designs are still in progress, so you'll see them another day.
Anyway, this year's categories are as follows:
- Reject of the Year - for the one reject whose contributions to the region defined the last year.
- Outstanding Civil Servant - for that one CitCo Member, RRA Officer, Deputy Officer or Officer who has been outstanding the past year.
- Newcomer of the Year- for the newcomer who has become dedicated to the Rejected Realms in a short period of time and has already made significant contributions.
- Veteran Reject Award - for that one person with a joyless life who has been playing for a years and isn't shown any appreciation elsewhere.
- Oustanding Officer Award - for the Officer who has been outsanding this past year
- Greymarshes Achievement Award - for the RRA member who has shown dedication and commitment
- RRA Newcomer Award - for the new soldier in the RRA who has shown dedication and commitment to the RRA in a short space of time. Must have joined the RRA After November 1. 2020 to be eligible
- Oustanding Staff Member Award - for the person who has been chilling in staff status and has made valuble contributions to their department.
- Outstanding RMBer Award - for the RMBer who has made positive contributions to the RMB
- Pen and Paper Award - for the best journalist in the Rejected Times
- The Rejected Realms' Event of the Year - for the event that defined TRR's 2021: can be either a cultural event or any other nugget of drama
- Quote of the Year - the dumb one where no-one remembers quotes so we all just come up with a mediocre one and make it quote of the year.
