January 1st Government Report

Post by Deadeye Jack »

This is the bimonthly report on government activity as mandated by the Government Accountability Act. This report covers the month of December.

Delegate: Deadeye Jack
Officers: Bormiar, Neop, Pharcyde, PowerPAOK
Endorsements: 163 (40%) | WA population: 407
Average residency: 358.99 days | Average endorsements: 1.35 | Average influence: 752.24 | Number of citizens: 117

RMB messages in the month of December: 3,222 (103.9 per day)

Discord posts in the month of December: 39,652 (of which 33,434 public)
Bot messages, 3.6% of the total

The new government has only had a few weeks together so this report won’t be all that long but all the Officers have been given their portfolios and have begun working on their tasks.

Culture

- Nequedum conducted a Culture Staff roll call to see who was still interested in contributing to event planning and in what capacities.

- Rejectmas was planned and is winding down at the time of this report. It featured various forum, discord and RMB activities for the region to enjoy together. There were some new things added in like Unicorn Jousting, Lord of Misrule, and Escadian Battleship.

- We have started a new history project centering on the official and unofficial flags of TRR. This still has a long way to go and room for plenty of people to help contribute.

- With season 2 of cards released we started thinking about how we can build up a card community in TRR. It needs more thought but so far we introduced a spot on the forum for people to brag about their cards that they get on a daily basis if they want.

Foreign Affairs

- Neop has begun the process of drafting our next Foreign update.

- The Foreign Affairs office will begin another review of our current embassies soon and see if there are any that we should eliminate or add to our list. If necessary, ambassadors will be reshuffled to fit our needs.

- Towards the end of the last term we ratified a mutual defense treaty with The North Pacific after steadily strengthening relations over the year.

Media

- The writing process has begun for TRT Issue LV. Bormiar has provided an ample amount of story tips for those looking to write. The issue is targeted for release in mid January.

- Bormiar has also reached out to some different people to try to get them involved in the Media Office’s work.

Outreach

- Pharcyde has been extremely impressive from the start of their term and has hit the ground running putting their coding and data collecting abilities to good use.

- The framework and coding for a monthly RMB Awards has been setup and the first edition has been released at the beginning of January. We hope that this monthly recognition will help increase game side activity and retention in the region.

- The WA Ping Program has begun. Nations who sign up can and will be notified on either discord or the RMB every time we begin discussion of a World Assembly proposal on the forum and are encouraged to weigh in with their opinion. We view this as an essential first step in helping to grow World Assembly activity in the region and will monitor the results.

- Weekly endorsement dispatches have been getting out like clockwork which should hopefully help to steadily grow Delegate endorsements.

- Pharcyde has created profiles on the NationStates forum activity of all of the World Assembly members in the region and will likely be doing the same for our Citizen’s list as well. How exactly we use this information is still up for discussion but the general idea of it is, for example, if we see people that post in Roleplay parts of the forum a lot we can maybe find a way to cater to their interests in TRR.

- Pharcyde and Sarah have begun reviewing and drafting different Telegrams for different situations. These include welcome telegram, recruitment telegram, and one time region wide advertisement telegrams (think a TG encouraging joining discord or a different one encouraging joining the RRA). Going forward we’ll refine these efforts and incorporate them where appropriate.

- The WA Ping Program has been solidified and taken over by Deputy Officer Morover. He has also taken to creating summaries of what the resolutions mean to accompany the program.

- An Upvote Squad was created to help with the visibility of our dispatches.

- Before resigning Pharcyde began to work on a “Quick Start Guide” that is unfinished but would be beneficial to complete so that we can integrate it into our welcoming process.

- We’ve begun a Communal World Assembly Project wherein we will write a proposal together as a region to help get interested people more familiar with the General Assembly. If you’d like to join in see Here.

- Weekly endorsement dispatches are still being done regularly and generally on time.

Re: Government Announcements

Post by Deadeye Jack »

This is the bimonthly report on government activity as mandated by the Government Accountability Act. This report covers the months of March and April.

Delegate: Deadeye Jack
Officers: Bormiar, Sarah, Kyorgia, Bowshot
Endorsements: 261 (44.6%) | WA population: 585
Average residency: 275.49 days | Average endorsements: 1.18 | Average influence: 579.84 | Number of citizens: 113

RMB messages in the month of March: 2054 posts (66.26 posts per day)
RMB messages in the month of April: 2931 posts (97.7 posts per day)

Discord posts in the month of March: 38,404 (of which 35,655 public)
Bot messages, 4.9% of the total

Discord Posts in the month of April: 148,041 (of which 133,376 public)
Bot messages, 16.5% of the total

A quick note before we start. In April, we had Officer Elections so congratulations to Bormiar, Sarah, Kyorgia, and Bowshot for their victories. They’ve not been in office long with their current roles, but they’ve been busy.

Culture

- Sarah has brought back her monthly contests. We had a Meme contest in March, that Deadeye Jack won and we had a Writing contest in April that Nakari won.
- As part of her election platform Sarah promised to start doing weekly profile picture theme contests on Discord. These happen every Tuesday and we’ve had 3 so far and it has been fairly successful and fun.

- During the end of March and the beginning of April we held the 2019 Reject Awards. This is the 3rd time we’ve held the awards and it’s a good way to recognize those who contribute to the region in various aspects. The winners can be seen here.

- You may have noticed from the stats posted above that we saw a massive increase in discord activity in the month of April. I think there are two main factors that could be attributed to. First, we’ve seen a resurgence of Werewolf activity on discord a long and storied tradition in TRR. Second, the social distancing measures in place around the world due to COVID-19 have probably played some role in the general increase in activity and discussion.

- Deadeye Jack made a numbered map for the nation RP on the forum based off of the one Catalyse originally created. We have been trying to spur some activity there but it’s been slow going so far.

Foreign Affairs

- Kyorgia has completed the work of the Embassy review we started during Manson’s term. This was done with the purpose of reducing the amount of work ambassadors were doing that wasn’t really being seen by the target audiences.

- Kyorgia has begun the drafting for the region’s next foreign update that you can see and contribute to here.

World Assembly

- The World Assembly Officer is a new position starting in April, due to increased WA related projects and activity. Bormiar is diligently putting together some infrastructure for the Office.

- The World Assembly Staff has been created and you can signup for it if you are interested and would like to help get the Office off of the ground.

- In March, Bormiar introduced a new monthly WA-Related awards program. These are meant to keep track of who is contributing to our forum discussions on World Assembly proposals and casting their votes there. Hopefully this will act as an incentive to get people more involved in this aspect of our region. Here you can see the TRR WA Voting Awards versions for February, March, and April.

- Bormiar and the WA Staff are work-shopping analyses that can be distributed for each WA proposal that explain the good and bad parts of the proposal (insofar they exist) and why someone might vote for or against depending on how they felt about those things.

- Old programs like the WA Ping Program are still ongoing and membership was grown by sending targeted telegrams to TRR gameside voters on WA resolutions. Bormiar has done these messages for now, but there has been discussion on transferring such duties to Outreach in the future.

Outreach

- As part of his Outreach duties, Bowshot has begun a program that targets gameside members in TRR that seem more inclined to join the Roleplay based on certain criteria. It makes them aware of our forum Nation Roleplay and tries to get them to sign up for a spot on the map.

- Already existing programs like the RMB Awards and weekly endorsement dispatches are still going as scheduled and these have continued to fulfill their intended purposes well.

- During the Youtube boom from Drew’s video, Bowshot graciously sent some recruitment telegrams from his nation. This resulted in 31 new nations joining our region from his message on top of the many that were banned from other regions.

Media

- The Rejected Times Issue LVI was released in March.

- Starting in April, I did not assign a Media Officer, due to who was elected and the creation of a World Assembly Office. Discussion have been ongoing about the future of Media.

- While we are without a Media Officer or any agreed upon head of the Rejected Realms’ media operation, I have been acting as the head. We’re currently working on Issue LVII and hope to release some time in May.

Re: Government Announcements

Post by Deadeye Jack »

This is the bimonthly report on government activity as mandated by the Government Accountability Act. This report covers the months of May and June.

Delegate: Deadeye Jack
Officers: Bormiar, Sarah, Kyorgia, Bowshot
Endorsements: 265 (48.8%) | WA population: 543
Average residency: 164.28 days | Average endorsements: 1.93 | Average influence: 825.25 | Number of citizens: 127

RMB messages in the month of May: 3991 posts (128.74 posts per day)
RMB messages in the month of June: 3058 posts (101.93 posts per day)

Discord posts in the month of May: 202,449 (of which 189,084 public)
Bot messages, 19.3% of the total

Discord Posts in the month of June: 180,127 (of which 168,901 public)
Bot messages, 17.3% of the total

Culture

- Monthly contests have continued to roll. We’ve had a Art and Photo Contest in May and a RRA Flag Contest in June.

- The Theme Tuesdays have also continued to be a regular occurrence on discord.

- In a team effort led by Neq and pushed over the finish line by the current Culture Office, the Forwintrr League Pokemon interregional event was held in May with our allies in Forest and Wintreath.

- Sarah has tried to rekindle discussion around an old brainstorming thread particularly focusing on ways we could use cards for special events in the region. This will hopefully lead to some promising new possibilities.

Foreign Affairs

- Towards the end of May we added a forum Embassy with Warzone Sandbox after they used their consulate to give us a few regional updates. They’re certainly the most interesting of the Warzones right now and there could be potential in interacting with them more.

- Recently in June we helped our allies in The North Pacific out with their Delegate transition helping the seat transfer from McMasterdonia to Prydania. We had 21 troops deploy in support of the operation. It’s a number to be proud of and one that shows our allies that we can provide the help they need when they need it.

World Assembly

- The WA Office has continued to grow and has been a good source of activity in the region. Pretty much all the programs that were put into place previously like WA Voting Awards, Ping Program, etc.

- Towards the end of May we created a WA Staff discord channel to better organize the staffers especially when it comes to working on Pros/Cons dispatches and Recommendations.

- Speaking of the Pros/Cons and Recommendations dispatches, these have started to come out with more regularity and are often consumed worldwide.

- The WA Communal project was revived with a Ballast Water proposal. Bormiar, Morover and Gorundu worked on the original proposal leaving it open for comments to the region. However it hasn’t received much interest so far unfortunately. Hopefully that will turn around.

Outreach

- Outreach has continued to do outreach things like the weekly delegate endorsement dispatches. One issue we ran into, however, is that the code for the RMB Awards broke. That was an initiative that I really liked and that I think provided us with a lot of benefit. We’ve done some preliminary reaching out to folks to see if we can figure out what the issue is but have not been able to get a fixed result. Hopefully this can get resolved by the next Delegate.

- Bowshot started discussions on setting up a World Assembly program that was similarish to counterparts say in TNP and TSP. The goal would be to provide incentive to endorse the delegate with like titles and for their longevity in doing it. Other potential behaviors to reward are still being brainstormed.

- The Upvote Squad is really starting to be used to its full potential now. It’s helped promote a lot of our work like Issues of TRT, Event dispatches, or World Assembly dispatches. It’s good for our stuff to be at the top of the world dispatches.

Media

- The Media question was put to bed by the Assembly in May with The Constituting Act of the Rejected Realms Media Corporation. TRRMC is now led by an Editor in Chief and our first one is Agalaesia.

- Before Aga assumed his role, I helped spearhead the release of Issue LVII.

- Agalaesia got right to work on various things for the department, including brainstorming ways to get more writers and Issue LVIII which was technically released a couple days after the scope of this report.
