New Constitution Being Drafted
The RIA Constitution was recently stolen by agents of the OSK Syndicate, a group of rogue agents whose home nations were already in the RIA. The theft of the only known copies of the region's governing document forced the RIA into a state of anarchy. Fortunately, a new constitution is nearing its completion and will be presented to the public shortly.
The proposed constitution will create a legislative branch, so the region will no longer be governed solely by the Grand Council. The new constitution also calls for the creation of 3 Great Houses. Houses will be operated by citizens of the region. It will be up to each House to decide how they will send their representatives to the Senate.
Each House will be able to send a number of senators depending on that Houses's influence. By supplying troops to the RIASF, participating in government programs, and adding to the culture of the region, a House will gain influence. Through influence a House can send more representatives to the Senate, increasing the strength of their voice in the government.
RIA Special Forces On The Move!
The RIASF has finally opened for business. The SF's small strike forces have participated in over 10 missions during the previous 30 days. Many of these operations were active defense missions, with a couple of security details and liberations as well.
SF soldiers operated both alone as well as alongside our friend in the cause. Operatives have been seen working in cooperation with the FRA, UDL, and TITO on many occasions. It's nice to be able to use those 3 groups and the word "cooperation" in the same sentence
The Financial District Opens For Public Trading Dinotars - the home of custom made dinosaur avatars - is open for business! Owned and operated by Tierra de Madre, Dinotars seeks to provide customers with quality forum avatars designed around the customer's own name. What started as a joke between friends has become the RIA's first fully licensed company!
Foreign Affairs Continues To Expand
The Office of Foreign Affairs continues to see ongoing growth. Since the last updates, new embassies have been opened with The UDL, Spiritus, and Lazarus. Additionally, other members of the region have stepped up to assist Shizensky as an ambassador. Home of the Jacks, Timothia, and Tangaroan Islands have agreed to serve as ambassadors in our foreign embassies.
Changes to the Grand Council
The new constitution is bring changes to the regional government. The Grand Council will now be made up of officers of the Security, Immigration, and Foreign Affairs departments, as well as the Founder and Delegate.
A Senate has also been created, and as many as 9 senators shall served based on the collective influences of the Greate Houses. Each House may draft their own laws and procedures, including the processes used to select their own senators. We think this will lead to very interesting cultures which will be unique to each of the Houses.
Population
Regional population seems to have settled between 155 and 160 nations. Recent changes to the recruiting process appear to keep the population stable at best. We will continue to evaluate our recruiting process and decide on a new course of action soon. For the time being, the Office of Immigration is using this time as an opportunity to increase retention efforts while a new recruiting scheme is developed.
