You do not have to do anything else. Your signup will be automatically accepted. (Please post on this thread if you no longer want to take part in the tournament.)
Do not sign up if you are not a resident of The Rejected Realms.
Once we reach an appropriate number of signups, the signup phase will close and I will create a thread. In the new thread, you will post rosters and roleplays; these will be graded by me and will contribute significantly to your scores, given that all teams will be unranked.
This post is also a signup for Nuli.
Signups (6/??)
- Nuli (aka Tinhampton/Lydia Anderson)
- Minskiev
- Bobby Rino
- Necropolis (aka The Grim Reaper)
- Eastern Phoenix Islands
- Aalen (aka Frattastan)
Get to Know Your Host
The inaugural Tournament of Rejects will be exclusively hosted in Nuli. Nuli is a fairly liberal democracy which harbours about 2.5 million people; it has never taken part in an international sporting competition before, but seeks to host the ToR to enhance its average-by-deduction international reputation.
Nuli is controlled by the player behind Tinhampton and Saint Eleanor. I have no experience of serious tournament hosting besides scorinating about five seasons of domestic football with various countries; however, I believe that TRR is an appropriately-sized venue for me to begin my international hosting career.
Scorination will occur using xkoranate 0.3.3 and the SQIS formula (with no home advantage, of course). Style modifiers will be additive and range from the highly defensive -5 to the highly attacking +5. I intend to scorinate one match every two days or so, with cutoff being around 9-10pm GMT.
I am currently expecting sixteen signups - which would take us to four groups of four, a quarterfinal, semifinal, third-place playoff and then a final - but am open to organising the ToR with more or less nations if necessary. (Twelve teams? Three groups of four. Twenty? Four groups of five. Twenty-four? Six groups of four and then a round of sixteen.)
All teams are unranked at the time they sign up. Without revealing too much about how exactly the roleplay bonus is calculated, all RPs submitted by a nation will be graded on a per-matchday basis out of two based on how much it informs, educates and entertains; this bonus will be cumulative (throughout the entire tournament). Teams will also be encouraged to submit a roster which will receive a one-time grade out of four which will carry over for all matchdays after its posting. The combined RP and roster bonuses on each matchday will constitute that team's "rank" for that matchday.
