A Song of Ice and Fire
I read the first book many years ago, and others as I came across them. I'm impressed by the amount of interest the TV version has generated. Martin is an excellent writer, and his involvement in the adaptation has helped to keep it true to the original. There is still a lot left out (which is probably why Arya's arc is a little weak), but the remainder is pretty cohesive.

A Song of Ice and Fire
Just finished the series.
Really enjoyed the books as a whole, book Four 'Feast for Crows' is weak and least favourite of the series so far, and as has been mentioned some story lines becoming tiresome and boring and predictable.

On the whole good books, but am actually for the first time ever with a TV adaptation enjoying the TV series more than the books. Though I imagine that will change when the next few tv series come out and aren't as good as the books. -

I actually prefer the books. Not only are they terriffic reads that take (too) many byears to write, but they alsom double as a weapon in emergencies (the hardback for Dance of Dragons is HUGE)

I've read all five, one of my favourite fantasy series of all time. The Red Wedding was amazing, although I only felt sad when Twyin got killed
