The General Assembly,
Recalling [Insert resolutions that do very little / are very niche]
Excited by the prospect of passing a resolution that does very little;
Resolving to advance further into the abyss of the niche resolution market;
Relishing in its love for most the minimalist and the obscure;
However conscious that the rules of this august body require the subject matters of its resolutions to be of an appropriate gravity;
Also aware of the prohibition on purely humorous resolution, and clarifying the very serious nature of this proposal;
Realising the potential for vast international commerce in corsets; and
Noting that corsets are as yet unregulated by it, which is a shame given how cool they are and their immense utility for citizens;
Hereby:
1. Prods member-states to standardise the measurements of corsets within their jurisdictions;
2. Establishes the World Assembly Corset Organisation (WACO) to:
(a) Maintain a register of equivalent corset measurements used in member-states, and publish conversion factors between them;
(b) Publish an International Corset Unit (ICU) to supplant national corset measurements.
3. Demands member-states provide consideration to using the ICU;
4. Encourages member-states to, alternatively, cooperate in establishing uniform national corset measurement systems.
