10000 Islands - The Rejected Realms Treaty of Friendship

The regions of The Rejected Realms and 10000 Islands,

Recognize their storied histories, friendship, and the intertwined natures of such,

Respect that each region has distinct cultures and standards in regards to regional and foreign affairs,

and

In wishing to formally promote cooperation and strengthen their ties, enter into the following covenant:

Article I - Diplomatic Relations

The signatories recognize the constitutional governments in force at the time of ratification of this treaty, and any successors established according to each region's domestic legal standards, as the sole legitimate governments of their respective home regions.
The signatories will ensure continuing diplomatic relations with each other in the form of NationStates and forum embassies.

Article II - Non-Aggression

1. The signatories will not invade each other's home region or territories, nor participate in any action with the intent to overthrow their legitimate governments as recognised in this Treaty.

2. The signatories will not engage in clandestine, espionage or other spying operations against one another, including their regional military forces.

Article III - Regional Security

1. The signatories will defend each other against military threats or attempts to overthrow their legal governments, at request of the lawful officials of the threatened region.

2. The signatories will assist each other during lawful delegate transitions.

Article IV - Intelligence Sharing

1. The signatories will share any information relevant to the security of the other signatories, provided it does not directly threaten their own security. This includes information relating to both regional and forum security.

Article V - Culture

1. The signatories will allow and encourage each other’s residents to participate in their social activities and cultural events, on or off the NationStates site, subject to their adherence to the rules of the region and of the relevant platform.

2. Shared events, on or off the NationStates site, will be held at least annually, coordinated by the government members responsible for culture or by their nominees.

3. The signatories pledge to communicate with each other about their plans, and to cooperate to the best of their ability, on the occasion of special events hosted by the NationStates site.

Article VI - World Assembly

1. The signatories pledge not to support World Assembly resolutions that would be damaging to the security or interregional reputation of the other signatory.

Article VII - Final Provisions

1. This Treaty will come into effect upon its ratification by the duly authorized individuals or bodies of both signatory regions.

2. Any signatory may withdraw from this Treaty with a public notice to the other signatories, effective after seven days.
